Juwan Howard talked about his son’s performance in the overtime loss to Iowa.

Michigan came up short in the 93-84 loss, but there were still some positive takeaways from the game. Howard’s son, Jett Howard, had a breakout performance in Thursday’s loss to the Hawkeyes. Howard led all scorers with 34 points. Howard made 7 of 13 attempted 3-point shots.

Following the game, Juwan was asked about Jett’s outing on Thursday night (Via MLive):

“He made some shots early. He was very aggressive out there. He allowed the game to come to him like he always do,” said Juwan Howard.

Iowa was able to use the overtime period to pull away from Michigan. The Hawkeyes outscored the Wolverines 14-5 in overtime. Howard praised his son for being aggressive.

“We need him out there on the floor because the guy’s a gamer,” Juwan said. “He knows how to play. He’s going to be aggressive, he’s going to make the right plays, and that’s what he did tonight.”

Jett, a freshman guard, has emerged as one of the top scorers on Michigan’s roster. Howard has averaged 15.5 points per game and is 2nd on the team in scoring. Howard’s 34-point performance on Thursday was his season-high point total.
