Juwan Howard finally got the chance to tell his side of the story in regards to his ejection from Friday’s quarterfinal game between Michigan and Maryland.

Howard was assessed a double technical foul in the second half of Friday’s quarterfinal game between Michigan and Maryland, ejected after charging the Maryland bench. After some jawing back and forth between the two sidelines, Howard charged Maryland’s bench and had to be restrained by officials and assistant coaches.

Following the game, Howard spoke with reporters and explained what happened between the two sides.

“Juwan I’m not going to let you talk to me! You don’t talk to me ever again,” Howard said of Turgeon in the postgame presser. “And he charged at me. I was raised by Chicago and when you’re charged, you defend yourself. Especially when a grown man charges at you.”

Turgeon was also asked about the situation. He said that the intensity “has been going on for three games.” But when it comes to what was said, the Maryland head coach says he was pretty innocent in his message.

“Don’t talk to me,” Turgeon told reporters when asked what he said. “That’s all I said.”

Howard’s ejection did not hinder Michigan’s success. The Wolverines cruised to a 79-66 win over the Terrapins and will advance to play the Ohio State-Purdue winner in the semifinals on Saturday.
