Michigan and Iowa are locked in a tight B1G battle Thursday evening. Foul trouble has been an issue for the Wolverines, and head coach Juwan Howard contributed to that in the second half.

With just over 18 minutes to play in the game, an Iowa pass was deflected by a Michigan player into the backcourt. As Connor McCaffery tried to chase down the live ball, Howard absent-mindedly stepped onto the court and picked up the ball.

It appeared Howard thought the ball was dead off a kick-ball scenario, but no whistle was blown. Needless to say, it will be a long time before Howard hears the end of this one:

Howard was ruled for a “Class B” technical foul per the broadcast that did not count extend the 2-technical rule leading to an ejection and was allowed to remain on the bench. He previously received a technical for arguing with an official in the first half.
