Karan Higdon is guaranteeing victory on Saturday.

While Michigan players met with the media on Monday to address this week’s rivalry game with Ohio State, the running back was asked whether he’d go as far as guaranteeing a win for the Wolverines this weekend.

Higdon paused for a brief second, but made the confirmation that Michigan will beat Ohio State on Saturday.

“Yeah, I do,” Higdon said with a huge smile on his face. “That’s how I feel. I believe firmly in my brothers and this team and this coaching staff. As a captain, I’ll take that stand. Why not?”

That statement is going to have both fan bases fired up for Saturday.

It’s exactly the kind of confidence Michigan fans want to see from the guys taking the field on Saturday. And whether or not he’ll admit, Jim Harbaugh has to love that response, too.

Higdon is more than qualified to make that stand, too. The running backs has been a critical piece of Michigan’s success all season, rushing for 1,106 yards and 10 touchdowns this year. He’s a huge reason why the Wolverines enter this week’s game at 10-1 with a chance to claim a division crown.

Saturday’s battle between Michigan and Ohio State just got even more interesting.

Is it time for kickoff yet?
