No. 2 Michigan will have a tough task on its hands when they square off with No. 3 Georgia in the College Football Playoff semifinals.

There’s recently been debate about the Bulldogs’ situation under center. Former walk-on Stetson Bennett guided Georgia to an undefeated regular season but a loss to Alabama in the SEC title game ignited discussion about returning to former five-star recruit JT Daniels.

However, Georgia coach Kirby Smart confirmed that he’s riding with Bennett in the do-or-die contest.

The senior Bennett has amassed 2,325 yards, 24 touchdowns, and seven interceptions this season. The Georgia native eclipsed over 300 yards passing in a game for the first time this season in the SEC title game loss to Alabama. Bennett passed for 340 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions in the defeat.

Michigan is 12-1 overall and easily handled Iowa 42-3 in the B1G title game. The Wolverines are seeking their first national title since 1997. The all-time series is tied 1-1 between Michigan and Georgia. This is the first meeting between the programs since 1965.
