Ahead of Iowa’s matchup with Michigan on Saturday, Hawkeyes’ head coach Kirk Ferentz had a unique comparison for Michigan defensive lineman Mazi Smith.

Ferentz said Smith “looks like a refrigerator except he can move,” Iowa Gazette’s John Steppe reported.

The comparison might just be accurate, as Smith stands at 6-foot-3 and 337 pounds. He has put together a solid season so far with 9 tackles and 0.5 of a sack. Smith has 56 total tackles across his career.

Smith and the Wolverines head into the matchup against Iowa 4-0 and looking to continue a hot start to their season. Michigan has handled its early competition easily but did struggle against Maryland last week.

Iowa enters the contest 3-1 coming off a big win over Rutgers. The Hawkeyes, who have been known for their defense, dropped their second game to Iowa State.
