Kwity Paye will not play Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars due to a leg injury. All-Pro linebacker Shaquille Leonard has also been ruled out for the AFC South matchup.

Paye was carted off in the 4th quarter last week against the Denver Broncos in Indy’s 12-9 victory on Thursday Night Football.

Drafted 21st overall in 2021, Paye has been on pace to have a career year with the Colts. In 5 games, the 6-foot-2 defensive end has registered 16 tackles, 5 tackles for loss, 5 quarterback hits and 3 sacks.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on the news.

Before Aidan Hutchinson and David Ojabo became household names in Ann Arbor, Paye was 1 of the top pass-rushers for the Wolverines.

In 4 seasons, he would record 97 total tackles, 23 tackles for loss, 11.5 sacks and a pass deflection. Paye’s best season came in 2019 when he registered 6.5 sacks to go along with 55 total tackles.

Paye was limited to 4 games in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. That season, he recorded 12 total tackles, 4 tackles for loss and a pair of sacks.

In two seasons with the Colts, Paye has tallied 48 total tackles, 15 QB hits, 8 tackles for loss and 7 sacks. Indianapolis is currently in 2nd place in the AFC South standings with a 2-2-1 record.
