Laurie Carr, wife of ex-Michigan head coach Lloyd Carr, passes away

Laurie Carr, the wife of former Michigan head football coach Lloyd Carr, has passed away. The University of Michigan Athletic Department shared the news.

she was 70.

“Michigan Football extends its deepest condolences to Lloyd Carr and the Carr family on the passing of Laurie Carr,” Michigan said in a statement. “We mourn your loss and pray for comfort.”

According to MLive.com, Laurie passed away after a long battle with cancer.

Laurie and Lloyd were married in 1994. They resided in Ann Arbor until 2019, when they moved to South Carolina. It was after the move that a Laurie was diagnosed with cancer.

Lloyd was the head coach at Michigan from 1995-2007. He led the Wolverines to a national championship during his time with the program.
