The Los Angeles Chargers signed a player from the USFL on Friday. They will be bringing in former Michigan DL Carlo Kemp from the Pittsburgh Maulers per Trent Knoop of Wolverines Wire.

Kemp played at Michigan from 2016-2020, appearing in 45 games for the Wolverines. Following his senior season in 2021, he went un-drafted and had stints with the Green Bay Packers and Denver Broncos. He then joined the Pittsburgh Maulers after not seeing much time in the NFL.

The news was confirmed by his agent Mike McCartney of Vayner Sports.

Kemp has played DE for the majority of his USFL career so far. It’ll be interesting to see how the Chargers decide to use him if he makes the 53-man roster. With Kemp’s versatility on the D-line, he could a very dangerous weapon.
