Luke Schoonmaker has been one of the bright spots for No. 2 Michigan in the VRBO Fiesta Bowl against No. 3 TCU. Late in the first quarter, Schoonmaker caught a reception from quarterback J.J. McCarthy that resulted in a 32-yard play.

Not long after that play, Schoonmaker reportedly suffered an injury and is being evaluated in the locker room. Schoomaker could make a return on the field after halftime, according to ESPN sidelines reporter Molly McGrath.

Schoonmaker entered the game as the third-leading receiver for Michigan. The starting tight end has 34 receptions for 386 yards and 3 touchdowns in 11 games this season.

Michigan’s offense is having a frustrating game against the tenacious defense of the Horned Frogs. The Wolverines have turned the ball over twice with one of them being a pick-6 for TCU.
