Hutchinson ended the year as the B1G’s sack leader, tallying 14 for the season. He also piled up 62 tackles, 12 quarterback hurries, 3 pass break-ups and 2 forced fumbles.
Hutchinson was a major factor in Michigan’s unbelievable and unexpected success in 2021. The Wolverines closed the year with a win over Ohio State, a B1G title and an appearance in the College Football Playoff. They finished with a 12-2 record, the best year of the Jim Harbaugh era.
Many honors were tossed Hutchinson’s way after an outstanding year. He was named the B1G Defensive Player of the Year, B1G Defensive Lineman of the Year, earned first-team All-B1G and All-American honors and was a Heisman Trophy finalist.
Heading into the 2022 NFL Draft, Hutchinson is listed as the No. 1 overall prospect by ESPN’s Todd McShay.
