Michigan’s 2020 recruiting class just got bigger. A lot bigger.

Thursday night, Michigan received a commitment from 6-foot-6, 300 pound offensive tackle Zak Zinter. The Massachusetts native is a four-star prospect and is one of the top offensive linemen in the 2020 recruiting class.

Zinter made the announcement via his Twitter account.

“With ALL of this support behind me, guiding me, and developing me into the player I am…I am 110% COMMITTED to the University of Michigan,” Zinter wrote. “I am a Michigan Wolverine! Thank you, Coach Harbaugh, Coach Warinner and the entire coaching staff at Michigan for believing in me and having me as part of the Michigan family! I can’t wait to get on campus and get to work.”

Zinter was a highly-recruited prospect, receiving over two dozen offers. He was very popular among B1G programs, receiving offers from Ohio State, Michigan State, Penn State, Rutgers, Iowa, Nebraska, Northwestern and Purdue, along with Michigan.

Per 247Sports’ rankings, Zinter is listed as the No. 21 offensive tackle in the 2020 class and is the second-best overall prospect out of Massachusetts. He ranks No. 217 in the nation.

Zinter is now the highest-rated commit in Michigan’s 2020 class currently. The Wolverines now have seven members in the class, and ranks 18th nationally and fifth in the B1G.
