Several former Michigan stars are headed to the 2019 NFL Draft, pursuing their dreams of playing professional football. On Tuesday, draft expert Mel Kiper Jr. talked about the draft status for many of those prospects.

Rashan Gary, Devin Bush and Chase Winovich are three of the bigger Michigan names in this year’s draft. Kiper believes all three players will be taken within the first two rounds, and expects Gary and Bush to be first round selections.

As of right now, he has Winovich pegged as a second round pick.

Gary has been one of the top names in the NFL Draft this season, and is projected in the top 10 of several early mock drafts. Kiper says the defensive lineman needs to “test out as the freak we know he can be.”

With Bush, Kiper believes the B1G Linebacker of the Year is one of the more interesting prospects in the draft. He sees Bush as a mid-to-late first round player.

Kiper also gave insight on two other players — Winovich and running back Karan Higdon. The expert things Winovich is a second round selection while Higdon could be chosen in the fifth or sixth round.

The 2019 NFL Draft will start on Thursday, April 25 and conclude on Saturday, April 27.
