Michael Barrett knows that there’s a fight coming on the field as TCU and Michigan go head to head in the College Football Playoff.

The veteran LB has been a key playmaker on the defense for the Wolverines. Barrett is an All-Big Ten selection, and had a career-high tying 11 tackles against Ohio State this season. Barrett also had two impressive interceptions in the Wolverines 52-17 destruction of Rutgers.

Despite being one of the best defenses in the country, Michigan will need to be at the top of their game as they host TCU in the CFP. Barrett recently met with the media to preview the upcoming matchup, and had some thoughts about the TCU offense.

They’re versatile. They do a lot of different things. They have a quarterback who’s a competitor — a real competitor. He’s always gonna compete, put his team on his back to kind of get them to win. They got a really good receiving corps. They’ve got a quarterback who can get them the ball. Good running back, and they’re just balanced with the pass and the running game. They’re really good at both. So there’s gonna be a good test for our defense on all levels.

Michigan and TCU will face off in the Fiesta Bowl on Dec. 31 at 4 p.m. ET on ESPN.
