Michigan announces 2 key injury absences for The Game
Michigan’s hopes of upsetting Ohio State and extending its winning streak in The Game took a significant blow Saturday morning.
Ahead of the rivalry showdown in Columbus, the Wolverines confirmed that Colston Loveland and Will Johnson have been ruled out for the clash with OSU. Amorion Walker, Jaden Mangham, Micah Pollard and Rod Moore are also listed as out. Benn Hall and Jeff Persi are considered questionable ahead of kickoff.
“Both of those guys are going to be out this game,” Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore told FOX’s Big Noon Kickoff. “Unfortunately, 2 really good players, but we’ve got guys ready to step up.”
Johnson, widely considered one of college football’s top cornerbacks, has been dealing with a toe injury since the Illinois game. He has made just 6 appearances on the season.
Loveland, a standout tight end, has been one of Michigan’s top players in 2024. He has logged 56 receptions for 582 yards and 10 touchdowns. A finalist for the John Mackey Award, Loveland is Michigan’s leading receiver on a struggling passing offense.
The Game is set for a noon ET kickoff, airing on FOX.
