Michigan will have a special guest on hand for Saturday’s Maize & Blue Spring Game.

On Wednesday, the Wolverines announced via Twitter that Colin Kaepernick will be in the Big House to serve as the honorary captain. Kaepernick’s work with Jim Harbaugh goes back to the duo’s time in San Francisco from 2011-14.

Harbaugh’s best work with the 49ers came with Kaepernick under center. The quarterback started 39 regular-season games from 2012-14 and went 25-14 in those games.

During the 2012 season, Harbaugh and Kaepernick led San Francisco to the Super Bowl but fell just short with a loss to the Baltimore Ravens. They would make the NFC Championship Game in 2013 but lost to the Seattle Seahawks.

At least for one more day, the two will be together again, this time in Ann Arbor.
