Michigan has announced a suspension in the wake of an NCAA investigation into alleged sign stealing of opponents.

Connor Stalions, an analyst on Michigan’s staff, has been suspended with pay, pending the conclusion of the NCAA investigation into signal stealing, Michigan Athletics announced on Friday afternoon.

The NCAA prohibits in-person advanced scouting of opponents and using electronic equipment to record an opponents’ signals. There are also bylaws prohibiting unsportsmanlike or unethical activities. Multiple reports have suggested that Stalions did just that, and B1G coaches have been aware of the situation.

This came after Jim Harbaugh on Thursday released a statement about the situation: “I want to make it clear that I, and my staff, will fully cooperate with the investigation into this matter. I do not have any knowledge or information regarding the University of Michigan football program illegally stealing signals, nor have I directed any staff member or others to participate in an off-campus scouting assignment. I have no awareness of anyone on our staff having done that or having directed that action. I do not condone or tolerate anyone doing anything illegal or against NCAA rules.”
