Michigan announces two new captains for Peach Bowl

Michigan will have two new captains for its Peach Bowl matchup against Florida on Saturday.

Defensive end Chase Winovich and wide receiver Grant Perry will join safety Tyree Kinnel and offensive lineman Ben Bredeson as team captains in Atlanta. The announcement was made on Friday.

Both Winovich and Perry are seniors.

Winovich has been one of the star players for Michigan’s defense this season, registering 14.5 tackles for loss and four sacks this season. He ended the regular season with 62 total tackles.

Perry has played in all 12 games at receiver for the Wolverines, hauling in 18 receptions for 131 yards. He caught at least one pass in six games this season.

Michigan finished the regular season 10-2 and is looking for its first 11-win season since 2011. The Wolverines will take on Florida in the Peach Bowl.
