The University of Michigan’s athletic department has released the latest COVID-19 test results as student-athletes, coaches and staff members return to campus. The latest update provides some fairly good news.

According to a release from Michigan, a total of 322 individuals have been tested as the school welcomed individuals back to campus. So far, only two individuals have tested positive for the virus, both are student-athletes.

Latest tests were conducted on June 29.

Breaking it down further, Michigan says that 194 student-athletes have been tested while 131 staff members have also been screened. No staff have tested positive at this time.

The numbers are inclusive of all student-athletes, coaches and staff that have returned to Michigan’s campus in Ann Arbor. The football program began voluntary workouts in June after the NCAA lifted its moratorium on organized team activities.

Michigan is currently scheduled to open the 2020 college football season against Washington on Sept. 5.
