Michigan athletics recorded lower COVID-19 positive results than last week. This is a good sign considering that last week the department reported its highest one-week total of positive results.

The amount of positive results for Michigan athletics has dropped from 26 to 13 total. Of the positive results, 11 are student-athletes and 2 are staff members. The new amount comes from testing done from Oct. 24-30, according to the Detroit Free Press.

To date, 133 student-athletes and 15 staff members have tested positive since tests have been administered.

Altogether since mid-June, the department has given out 15,762 tests.

Two weeks ago, Washtenaw County Health Department put a two-week stay-in-place order for all University of Michigan undergraduates, according to MLive.com. Student athletes are granted an exception “provided that athletic medical staff is present,” during practices and competitions.
