Despite Michigan’s No. 3 ranking in Tuesday’s College Football Playoff opening poll, the Wolverines don’t have the third-best odds to bring home a national title.
No, Jim Harbaugh and company actually have the second-best chance to bring the CFP trophy back to Ann Arbor, according to ESPN’s Football Power Index that was released following the rankings.

Not surprisingly, Alabama sits at the top of that list as a 43 percent favorite to win the title and defend its national championship crown.
The Crimson Tide travel to Baton Rouge for a marquee match-up with LSU. Michigan will stay in Ann Arbor to take on Maryland.
