Michigan will be with a new head baseball coach next season. The athletic department announced that Erik Bakich will no longer be the team’s head coach on Thursday.

Bakich will be taking over head coaching duties at Clemson, where he was an assistant in 2002. He led Michigan to a 34-28 record, a B1G Tournament title, and was a couple games shy of a Super Regional berth in 2022. He was 1st hired by Michigan in 2012. Bakich was also voted as the Consensus 2019 National Coach of the Year after making the CWS that season. During his time at Michigan, he posted a 328-216 record.

During his tenure, he had 5 NCAA Tournament appearances. Bakich will be going back to the school that gave him his 1st coaching gig in college baseball.
