The Wolverines had a 50-48 lead at halftime and then were outscored 46-36 in the 2nd half. The 49ers were led by guard Marcus Tsohonis, who scored 35 points and came down with 7 rebounds.
The 49ers entered the game with a 1-2 record. The team got a win over DePaul and suffered losses to Portland and San Diego State.
The Wolverines are sitting at 3-1 now after the loss. The team started off 3-0 with wins over UNC Asheville, Youngstown State, and St. Johns.
Even in the loss, the Wolverines had some impressive performances. Olivier Nkamhoua scored 22 points and netted 11 rebounds. Dug McDaniel scored 20 points and got 6 assists.
The next test for the Wolverines will be against the Memphis Tigers. After the Memphis game, the Wolverines will have games against the Oregon Ducks and Indiana Hoosiers.
