Michigan has finalized the first contract for head coach Sherrone Moore. After entering the season without a finalized deal, the contract was officially confirmed on Wednesday.

“We are excited to announce that the full contract for UM football coach Sherrone Moore has been signed by all parties,” Michigan president Santa Ono and AD Warde Manuel said in a joint statement. “…Our university and athletic department leadership is behind Coach Moore, his coaching staff and the great student-athletes that compete on the field and in the classroom.”

Moore issued his own statement in Michigan’s announcement, saying he is “excited” to have his full contract completed.

“All of my focus is and always will be centered on the mental, physical and spiritual development of the young men that suit up to play for Michigan,” said Moore.

Moore is officially 1-1 as the full-time head coach for the Wolverines, leading the program to a win over Fresno State but a devastating home loss to Texas in the first big game of the season. The future may still be bright for Moore and his tenure in Ann Arbor, but it could be a rocky debut season for the head coach.
