Michigan defensive back Keith Washington will transfer away from Ann Arbor according to Scout’s Sam Webb.

The 6-foot-2, 170 pound back appeared in nine games for the Wolverines last season, primarily on special teams with a little spot duty at cornerback. He was credited for three tackles.

Washington was a three-star quarterback in high school. The Prattville, Alabama native originally committed to California before flipping to Michigan in February of 2015. Washington converted to cornerback upon his arrival in  Ann Arbor later that year, but he did not play his freshman season.

There is no word yet on why Washington transferred out of Michigan, nor an intended destination.
