Michigan DB Rod Moore is not done with his time in Ann Arbor!

On Monday, the veteran safety confirmed he’s going to run it back for one more season with the Wolverines. That’s certainly good news for a Michigan defense already losing some key pieces to the NFL Draft.

Originally a 3-star recruit in the 2021 recruiting class, Moore has appeared in 37 career games, including 12 during the national championship run. He produced 5 tackles and a pass breakup in the Rose Bowl win and most notably iced The Game with an interception in the final minute of play.

During the 2022 season, Moore was the team’s third-leading tackler with 71 stops and led the Wolverines with 4 interceptions. For his career, Moore has 142 total tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss and half a sack to go with 6 interceptions and 7 pass breakups.

Impact of Moore’s decision

Getting Moore back is a big win for a unit already losing Michael Barrett, Junior Colson, Kris Jenkins and Mike Sainristil, among others. He brings a veteran presence alongside Will Johnson and Josaiah Stewart for Michigan’s defense looking to reload and regroup for the 2024 season.
