Michigan is off to a 4-0 start to the season but after last year’s disappointing campaign, the Wolverines are hungry for even greater success.

Michigan has a conference clash at Wisconsin on Oct. 2. On the PFF Tailgate Podcast, Michigan defensive end Aidan Hutchinson laid out the team’s overall goals.

“That was one thing coming into the season we knew we had, was that chip (on our shoulders),” Hutchinson said. “We weren’t ranked, we didn’t really care about it, but we knew how good we were. Now we’re 14th in the country.

“One thing we’re trying to emphasize — we’re not losing this chip on our shoulder. Especially, we saw the spread of this Wisconsin game…that chip is still there. We’re coming for everything. We’re not out to prove anything to anyone, we’re just proving it all to ourselves. We know how good we are and how good we can be.”

Hutchinson is off to an excellent personal start, amassing 12 solo tackles, 4.5 sacks, and a forced fumble.

Michigan is coming off a narrow 20-13 victory vs. Rutgers. Michigan has also defeated Western Michigan, Washington, and Northern Illinois.

Wisconsin is 1-2 this season and most recently were routed 41-13 by Notre Dame. Michigan leads the all-time series 51-17-1. Wisconsin is on a two-game winning streak in the series.
