Michigan defensive end Chase Winovich will not be a participant in this year’s Senior Bowl, according to a report from MLive.com. It was his last opportunity to impress NFL scouts on the field.

According to MLive.com, Winovich pulled out of the Senior Bowl due to injuries. Both ankles were cited as reasons behind the defensive end’s decision not to participate. The game is scheduled for Jan. 26 in Mobile, Alabama.

Former Michigan State running back LJ Scott also pulled out of the event.

Winovich was an All-B1G selection, totaling 69 tackles, 17 tackles for loss and five sacks. He ended his career at Michigan with 184 total stops, 44.5 tackles for loss and 18.5 sacks.

Michigan now has just one representative participating in the Senior Bowl, running back Karan Higdon. He was the leading rusher for the Wolverines in 2018, totaling 1,178 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Higdon was not a participant in Michigan’s Peach Bowl game against Florida.
