Michigan landed a major recruiting blow Wednesday evening, picking up a commitment from a 4-star linebacker and in-state prospect for the class of 2024.

The player is Jeremiah Beasley, a top-10 player in Michigan out of Belleville High School. His eventual commitment came down to the Wolverines, Michigan State and Missouri before pledging to Jim Harbaugh’s program.

Beasley is listed at 6-foot-1 and 210 pounds and spent the month of June taking his official visits to MSU, Illinois, Michigan and Missouri. The 247 Sports Composite rates the Belleville product as the 6th player out of Michigan and the No. 28 LB in the country for the cycle.

Beasley joins a 2024 recruiting class for Michigan that is up to 24 players and is currently ranked 3rd in the country by the 247 Sports Team Composite. The addition of Beasley gives the Wolverines commitments from 3 of the state’s top 6 players in the cycle.
