Michigan feels 'a lot like Iowa' this season, says CFB insider Bruce Feldman
Michigan has felt stuck in the mud offensively to begin the season, even while winning 2 of the first 3 games. Now, the Wolverines have a major Big Ten task on Saturday, and it could get ugly for Sherrone Moore’s program.
In an interview for “The Rich Eisen Show,” college football insider Bruce Feldman dissected why he thinks USC should be the favorite in Ann Arbor this weekend. It includes the Trojan defense, but Feldman also likes the way the offensive line has looked compared with a defensive line for the Wolverines that has not quite lived up to its “scary” expectation.
Feldman pointed to Lincoln Riley’s ability to draw up a gameplan and Miller Moss’s strong work to open the 2024 season. There’s really only one path Feldman sees to a Wolverine win, and he sees it as unlikely.
“I just think Lincoln’s a terrific schemer and good at drawing things up and exploiting things. And again, they have a really good QB, a really smart QB and really — like 4 or 5 big-time receivers,” explained Feldman. “And unless Michigan just absolutely terrorizes Miller Moss and gets 4-5 sacks, I don’t see Michigan (winning).”
While it’s probably bad enough for Michigan fans that Feldman doesn’t see the program winning on Saturday, he added a bit more fuel to the fire. He predicted Ohio State will “smash” Michigan to end the season during the segment and used a horrific description to show how he feels about the Wolverines on offense.
“I feel like it’s hard for them to get more than 17 points, they feel all of a sudden a lot like Iowa on offense,” Feldman cracked.
Despite being on the road, bet365 has USC as a 5.5-point favorite, and a win would certainly elevate what the Trojans are capable of this season.
