Michigan lands 4-star edge rusher out of Maryland
Michigan football landed a commitment from 4-star edge rusher Lugard Edokpayi Wednesday morning as the Early Signing Period kicks off.
Edokpayi is an athlete to every definition of the word. The basketball-turned-football prospect stands at 6-7, 230-pounds and hails from Bowie, Maryland. He chose Michigan over Maryland and Rutgers, but also had offers from Tennessee, Minnesota, Florida State, Wisconsin and Texas A&M.

Edokpayi is a bit of a work in progress as far as a true pass rusher goes, but has a ton of upside thanks to a massive frame and, according to 247Sports’ Andrew Ivins, some strong stretches since switching sports.
The newest Michigan pledge is considered to be the No. 222 overall prospect in the country, as well as the No. 18 edge and No. 7 prospect out of Maryland.
