Another elite talent is headed to Ann Arbor.
On Tuesday evening, Michigan received a commitment from four-star safety Makari Paige. The in-state prospect picked the Wolverines over offers from Ohio State, Penn State, Kentucky and Arizona.
Paige made his announcement via Twitter. He becomes the 24th player in the 2020 class to give his verbal pledge to the Wolverines.
“I cannot thank all the coaches enough who believed in me and gave me the opportunity to play at their schools,” Paige wrote in a message. “This recruiting process has been an once in a lifetime experience, but I am truly ecstastic to end it as a Wolverine.”

A 6-foot-3, 180-pound prospect, Paige is a speedy defensive back with natural athleticism and excellent ball skills, according to 247Sports. Michigan liked his versatility and the ability to play multiple roles on the defensive side of the football.
Per 247Sports’ Composite rankings, Paige is a four-star prospect who is listed as the No. 22 safety in the 2020 class and overall sits at No. 243. A West Bloomfield native, Paige is the No. 6 player from Michigan.
Michigan owns the No. 7 recruiting class nationally and sits No. 2 in the B1G. He’s the 24th player to commit this cycle.
