Ahead of the 2023 campaign, a pair of Michigan players landed on the Comeback Player of the Year Watchlist.

Long snapper William Wagner and running back Blake Corum were both selected to the list, which highlights players that return from injury to have standout seasons.

Corum was one of the best running backs in all of college football last season and even finished 7th in Heisman voting despite suffering a season-ending knee injury in November. He picked up 1,463 yards and 18 touchdowns in the 2022 season and is sure to repeat that success in the 2023 season.

Corum was also named to several other preseason watch lists, including Walter Camp Player of the Year Award Watch List and the Maxwell Award Watch List.

Wagner has been outstanding for the Wolverines, handling 197 kick-scoring points in his career. He was on track for another great season last year until suffering a season-ending injury in October. Wagner was also added to the Patrick Mannely Award Watchlist, which is the award for the best long snapper.
