Michigan added a big piece to its 2025 recruiting class on Friday afternoon.

The Wolverines landed a commitment from 4-star offensive lineman Avery Gach. He chose Michigan over programs such as Ohio State, Kentucky, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Nebraska and numerous other power-conference programs.

Gach made his announcement in a ceremony at his high school on Friday. Here’s video of the moment, courtesy of 247Sports’ Brice Marich:

This is a significant addition for Michigan’s 2025 recruiting class. He’s currently ranked as the No. 236 overall player and the No. 15 interior offensive lineman in the country for the class of 2025, per 247Sports Composite rankings.

This is also a big recruiting win for new Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore. Michigan initially offered Gach a scholarship way back in October of 2021 when Moore was still the program’s co-offensive coordinator and offensive line coach.

Gach also ranks as the No. 2 player from the state of Michigan. He’s the second in-state player Michigan has secured so far in the class of 2025, joining 3-star defensive lineman Bobby Kanka (Howell, Michigan). The Wolverines have 5 total commitments so far in this cycle.

Gach is from Franklin, Michigan. He’s listed at 6-foot-5, 290 pounds. He’s expected to play on the interior for Michigan at the next level.
