Michigan lands commitment from former Georgia LB Troy Bowles out of transfer portal
Michigan has landed a transfer commitment from a former Georgia linebacker out of the portal.
Troy Bowles, son of Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach Todd Bowles, is headed to Ann Arbor to continue his college football career after 2 seasons in Athens.
Bowles made his commitment announcement through Hayes Fawcett of On3.

Out of Tampa (Florida) Jesuit High School, Bowles was a sought-after recruit. He was rated 4-stars, the No. 6 linebacker, No. 20 player in the state of Florida and No. 80 prospect overall in the Class of 2023 on the 247Sports Composite.
A talented linebacker from a football family, Bowles drew widespread interest from coast to coast in his original recruitment. He picked up scholarship offers from 41 programs, choosing Georgia over Michigan, Alabama, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, LSU, Miami, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Ole Miss, Oregon, Penn State, Tennessee, Texas A&M and others.
Bowles logged limited playing time in 2 seasons at UGA. He made 5 appearances during the 2023 season, logging 5 tackles, including 3 solo stops. Bowles’ Georgia bio states he played in 2 games, making him eligible to take a redshirt season and have 3 years of remaining eligibility. Bowles did not log a defensive stat in 2024.
