Michigan hoops landed a commitment from former Tennessee forward Olivier Nkamhoua Wednesday, beating out the likes of West Virginia and Baylor for the 5th year senior.

Nkamhoua is one of the top names in the portal base off his potential alone. The 6-8 forward is elite defensively and has the ability to drop 25 any given game, but struggled with consistency problems in a Tennessee offense that, fairly, did the same. A change of scenery was just what the doctor ordered for Nkamhoua.

He committed following an official visit this past weekend.

Nkamhoua averaged 10.8 points and 5 rebounds per game in 2023 and had his best performance of the season in the NCAA tournament against Duke. There, he dropped 27 points in lifting Tennessee over a red-hot Blue Devils squad that many had advancing to the Final Four.

This is Michigan’s 3rd transfer commitment of the offseason. Nkamhoua joins former Alabama guard Nimari Burnett and former Seton Hall forward Tray Jackson in Ann Arbor.
