Michigan received a commitment from another four-star recruit on Wednesday night, boosting its national ranking up to No. 7 for the 2017 class.

Ambry Thomas is a 5-foot-11, 174-pound defensive back who has received multiple offers from major college programs. He was ranked N0. 102 nationally and the second-best player in the State of Michigan. He made his announcement to play in Ann Arbor via Twitter:

According to the video, Thomas had other B1G offers from Michigan State and Penn State. He also had Pittsburgh and Florida on his list.

Prior to Thomas’s commitment, Michigan’s 2017 class was ranked 9th nationally. His announcement bumped the Wolverines up to No. 7. They also rank second in the B1G.

Michigan now has 21 total commits in the upcoming class, including 13 prospects with a four-star rating or higher per 247Sports.com. The other eight members of the incoming class have a three-star rating.
