Michigan has another piece to the roster for the 2024-25 season, adding a key veteran and NBA prospect to begin the week.

Monday morning, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Florida Atlantic’s Vladislav Goldin was withdrawing from the NBA Draft. Ater 3 seasons with the Owls (and another at Texas Tech), Goldin will return to college for one final season at Michigan.

Goldin started 106 games across his 3 seasons at FAU and averaged 15.7 points, 6.9 rebounds and 1.6 blocks this past season.

Goldin is listed at 7-foot-1 and 240 pounds. He’s a career 62% shooter from the field, including a career-high 67% from the field this past season. He has averaged 10.9 points, 6.1 rebounds and 1.3 blocks while playing for the Owls.

Impact for Michigan

Dusty May was already putting together a deep transfer group for his first season at Michigan. In Goldin, May grabs a player he is familiar with, and it’s a player with immense talent and experience.

Goldin also joins a frontcourt that includes fellow 7-footer Danny Wolf from Yale. Wolf is a more versatile offensive player who can occasionally stretch the floor while Goldin is a more traditional big man.

Sam Walters, a lengthy forward at 6-foot-10 is another piece to the puzzle and a former 4-star recruit for Alabama. Those 3 pieces bring length to the Wolverines while a trio of guards will reshape the backcourt.

Point guard Tre Donaldson (Auburn) and shooting guards Roddy Gayle Jr. (Ohio State) and Rubin Jones (North Texas) are the other players who make up May’s 6-player transfer recruiting class. The theme of the elite teams in college basketball in recent seasons has been experience, and May is stocking up ahead of his first season in Ann Arbor.
