Michigan lands pledge from elite 2025 TE out of Tennessee
Michigan is rolling, both on the field and in recruiting after a marquee win in the Rose Bowl.
After getting past Alabama in the College Football Playoff, the Wolverines will face Washington in Houston for a shot at the national championship. Jim Harbaugh’s program also landed a big-time commitment on Thursday.
The pledge comes from Eli Owens, a major tight end prospect in the 2025 recruiting class. Owens hails from Alcoa (TN) High School and held other offers from Alabama, Cincinnati, Michigan State, Ohio State, Tennessee and others.

Owens is listed at 6-foot-1.5 and 243 pounds as a 4-star recruit per the 247 Sports Composite. The system also rates Owens as the No. 19 TE in the nation for the class of 2025.
TE has been a major position for the Wolverines in recent seasons with Luke Schoonmaker recently making the jump to the NFL and Colston Loveland currently starring with the offense. We’ll see if Owens can become the next major contributor at the position for Michigan.
