Michigan lands pledge from elite 4-star DL
The college football regular season is officially in the books. December is when coaching changes are made, recruits make their commitments to teams, and teams get ready for the bowl season.
Michigan got huge news Monday morning as they landed 4-star DL Joel Starlings from Richmond, VA.

Starlings is a 4-star recruit who is the No. 3 player in the state of Virginia, and the No. 27 DL in the country in the class of 2023 according to 247sports Composite Rankings.
Michigan only has one commit for the 2023 class, Adam Samaha, a kicker. This is a massive get for the Wolverines. Michigan’s 2022 class is the 17th ranked class in the country, 3rd in the B1G, and has a class of 18.
Starlings is a massive get because they will have to fill the void of DE Aidan Hutchinson as he is onto the NFL this offseason.
Michigan this season finished the year with an 11-1 record and 8-1 in B1G play. They are in the B1G Championship Game against No. 16 Iowa; if they win that game, they will likely have punched their ticket to the College Football Playoffs.
The Wolverines will be looking for their first national title since they split one with Nebraska in 1997.
