Michigan lands pledge from Florida DB in 2022 class
Jim Harbaugh received some good news on the recruiting front Monday morning.
Damani Dent, a 6-foot, 190-pound safety out of Jacksonville, Florida, announced his commitment to Michigan on Monday, per Steve Wiltfong of 247Sports. He is a member of the 2022 recruiting class and held offers from a dozen programs.
Michigan beat Oregon, Pitt, Arkansas State, Buffalo, Troy and others for Dent’s commitment. He becomes the 18th player of the cycle to verbally pledge to the Wolverines.

Dent is ranked as one of the Top 100 safeties in the 2022 recruiting class and a Top 200 prospect out of talent-rich Florida. He plays multiple positions at the high school level, taking snaps at safety, cornerback and wide receiver.
In 2020, Dent totaled 327 yards receiving and caught 2 touchdown passes. He also was responsible for 58 tackles and 3 interceptions on the defensive side while at Terry Parker High School.
Michigan’s 2022 recruiting class currently ranks No. 3 in the B1G and 16th nationally, per 247Sports Composite.
