Michigan linebacker Devin Bush is one of five finalists named for the Bronko Nagurski Award, presented to the top defensive player in college football.
The list of finalists was released on Wednesday. A winner will be announced on Monday, Dec. 3.
Joining Bush in the group of finalists is LB Josh Allen (Kentucky), S Grant Delpit (LSU), DT Christian Wilkins (Clemson), and NG Quinnen Williams (Alabama).
Bush has been an anchor for the Michigan defense this season, totaling 61 tackles, eight for loss and 4.5 sacks for the season. He’s also recorded four pass break-ups on the year. He’s tallied at least five tackles in eight of 10 games.
The best outing of the year for the linebacker came early in the year against Nebraska. Bush racked up nine tackles, 2.5 stops for loss and a sack in the Wolverines 56-10 victory.
Last year’s winner of the Bronko Nagurski Award was NC State defensive end Bradley Chubb. The last B1G player to win was Ohio State’s James Laurinaitis in 2006.
