Nikhai Hill-Green did not travel to Iowa City for Michigan’s first road trip of the season. The linebacker misses his fifth straight game and has yet to make an appearance this season.

Michigan broadcaster Jon Jansen reported the news. Hill-Green was a reliable tackler last season, with 35 solo tackles for Michigan in 2021.

Hill-Green is a versatile defender and was looking to step into a bigger roll as a leader and a player this season, but a soft-tissue injury halted those plans. It remains to be seen when he will come back, but will likely step into a big role upon his return.

Michigan will face the Hawkeyes in a rematch of last year’s B1G Championship, where the Wolverines blew out Iowa 42-3 en route to a College Football Playoff appearance. Can Michigan handle the crowd at Kinnick Stadium?

The two teams will kick off at 12 p.m. EST on FOX.
