Michigan linebacker Josh Uche announced earlier this month that he would not be returning to Michigan. He would instead be opting for the 2020 NFL Draft.

Fair play to him. If you can make money at the next level, so be it. No Wolverine fan should have a complaint about that.

Uche didn’t give much information about potentially returning for a fifth year at Michigan as he had played in parts of the past four season. Supposedly, he could have sought after a medical redshirt back in 2016, but he didn’t pursue one.

He bet on himself and it has apparently paid off. When talking about potentially getting a fifth year at Michigan, he said, “and I think I would have gotten it … but I didn’t even follow up.”

Uche has 32 tackles on the season to go along with 10.5 tackles for loss and a team-high 7.5 sacks. He has accepted an invitation to the Senior Bowl and plans to play in the Citrus Bowl against Alabama on Jan. 1.
