Michigan actually struggled early on against Rutgers, believe it or not. At halftime, the Wolverines trailed the Scarlet Knights by a 17-14 score after a blocked punt and pair of missed field goals.
Fortunately, it did not take long for Jim Harbaugh’s squad to turn things around. The Michigan defense recorded 3 interceptions in the 3rd quarter alone and totally flipped the game on its end.
From then on, the Wolverines were in control with a 52-17 victory and never trailed in the 4th quarter. Believe it or not, that kept an impressive statistic going for Michigan in 2022.
According to Drew Hallett, the Wolverines are the lone team in college football that has yet to trail — or be tied — with an opponent in the 4th quarter of a game this season. The Wolverines are 9-0 and looking to keep things rolling down the stretch.
Michigan is the only team in the country that has not been tied or trailed in the 4th quarter of a game this season.

We’ll see how long Michigan can keep the 4th-quarter leads going. The Wolverines play Nebraska and Illinois at home before traveling to face Ohio State in the regular season finale on Nov. 26.
