Michigan loses QB commitment following Bryce Underwood decision
Michigan commit and Cocoa (Fla.) High quarterback Brady Hart flipped his pledge on Friday.
The 6-foot-4 passer had previously been committed to Michigan, but following the Wolverines’ coup to land the top quarterback prospect in the 2025 class, Hart has flipped his own commitment and plans to sign with Texas A&M. According to multiple reports, he is also expected to reclassify from the 2026 class to the 2025 class.

The Aggies moved quickly to find a replacement quarterback in the class once Husan Longstreet flipped to USC. Hart had been part of the Michigan class since June, but the pathway to playing time in Ann Arbor was drastically altered when Bryce Underwood flipped from LSU.
A&M’s gain. As a sophomore and a first-year starter in 2023, Hart led Cocoa to a 14-1 record and a Florida 2S state title while completing 65.9% of his passes for 3,759 yards with 41 touchdowns and 11 picks. As a junior, he upped his completion percentage (to 71%), his yards per attempt (from 13.1 to 17.2), and his touchdowns. He threw 31 scores in 11 games with 8 interceptions.
Hart is a 4-star recruit in the industry-generated 247 Composite. As a 2026 prospect, he was ranked as the No. 6 quarterback in his class and the No. 98 overall player. Those will obviously change once the outlet adds him to the 2025 class.
As Hart was still classified as a 2026 recruit in the Composite, the departure changes nothing for Michigan in 2025. The Wolverines still have the ninth-ranked class ahead of the Early Signing Period. That group features 19 known commitments, 14 of which are blue-chippers. Michigan’s 2026 class, however, has just 2 known commits.
