Michigan is in the conversation when it comes to 5-star wide receiver Shelton Sampson Jr.

Earlier this week, Sampson released a list of the Top 6 schools he’s still considering for his commitment. Michigan was the only B1G school to make the cut for the Louisiana prospect. The other 5 programs included were Alabama, Florida State, LSU, Oregon and Texas A&M.

At 6-foot-4, 180 pounds, Sampson is listed as the No. 3 wide receiver of the 2023 recruiting cycle. Nationally, he ranks No. 32, per the 247Sports composite rankings.

Sampson, a Baton Rouge native, received nearly 20 offers on the recruiting trail. He would be a significant addition to any of the 6 programs he included in his top choices.

Below are some of Sampson’s highlights from the high school level:

Michigan currently owns the nation’s 16th-ranked class and sits No. 5 in the B1G. The Wolverines have verbal commitments from 6 players, 2 of which have a 4-star ranking.
