Michigan made quite the statement in its season-opening victory over Hawaii, 63-3. With the win, the Wolverines moved up two spots to No. 5 in the latest Associated Press top-25 poll.

The team also named its players of the game earlier today:

Statistically, Chris Evans and Mike McCray had standout games as Evans ran the ball eight times for 112 yards and two scores while McCray recorded a couple sacks with 3.5 tackles for loss and forced a fumble in the process. Brandon Watson stood out on special teams and Erik Magnuson did his job protecting Wilton Speight and opening up running lanes all game long.

Michigan’s Week 2 opponent is UCF and the game is scheduled to start at noon on Saturday at Michigan Stadium. The game will be televised on ESPN.
