Zak Zinter has enjoyed blocking for Blake Corum this season. He knows that if the offensive line does its job, Corum can make defenses pay.

Corum showed this against Maryland, with 243 yards rushing and and 2 touchdowns. Corum shined in Donovan Edwards’ absence on Saturday in the Wolverines’ B1G opener. Edwards missed the game with a leg injury.

Zinter knows just how special Corum can be per Clayton Sayfie of On3 Sports.

“Blake’s a super special back,” said Zinter. “We know if we do our jobs up front, Blake’s got the ability, and does almost every time, to make that secondary miss, and it’s off to the races. It’s super special to be able to block for him.”

Michigan will face a tough Iowa defense next on Oct. 1. The Wolverines last played the Hawkeyes in the B1G title game last season. Corum had just 5 carries in that game, but made the most of his chances with 74 yards rushing and 1 touchdown by the end.

Michigan and Iowa kicks off at noon ET on FOX.
