Michigan landed a nice piece for the 2023 recruiting class Friday, picking up a commitment from a 4-star defender out of Pennsylvania.

The commitment comes from Semaj Bridgeman, a 6-foot-2 and 230 lb. linebacker out of Philadelphia. He committed to the Wolverines over a finalist group that included Rutgers, Georgia, Alabama, Oregon and South Carolina.

According to the 247 Sports Composite Rankings, Bridgeman is listed as a 4-star prospect and the No. 20 LB in the country for the class of 2023. Bridgeman is also the No. 6 player out of Pennsylvania and the 305th overall player nationally.

Bridgeman becomes Michigan’s second commitment heading into the July 4 weekend. Earlier on Friday, the Wolverines picked up a commitment from Fredrick Moore, a speedy 3-star receiver out of St. Louis.

Michigan’s 2023 recruiting class moves up to 8 total pledges with Bridgeman joining Michigan running back Cole Cabana as 4-star players committed to the Wolverines.
